Train up a child on the way they should go, and when they are old, they shall not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

Attendance Policy

Attendance of every student is a must. This provides a learning experience to the students. Class participation or recitation goes to the Class Standing of the child with an equivalent credit with his/her quizzes. Your child will not be marked absent if he/she is sick provided however, that the following requirement has been met:

  1. 1st day of Absence – The parent has to notify the school before 7:30 am that his/her child will be absent for the day due to illness. The courtesy call should be made before class so that your child will not be marked absent.
  2. 2nd day thereafter – The parent should provide a medical certificate as proof that the child is sick. For purposes of computing your child’s quarterly grade, the teacher will keep track his/her attendance by taking notes of the absences supported by the medical certificate in order that he/she is considered excused.

A 3-day tardy is considered a 1 day absent. Successive tardy requires a conference with the parent and principal.

Your child must be in school before 7:30 a.m. If child is not in the classroom or campus after a 15 minutes grace period he/she is considered tardy.

Perfect Attendance

A Perfect Attendance award will be given to the students at the end of every two quarters and end of the year. The students must be in class throughout the end of the quarter and end of the year with less than three tardy.

Excused Absences

If the student misses class due to illness (personal or serious) or death or an immediate family member, approved off island trips, medical or dental appointments, court appearances or absence due to emergency is considered an Excused Absence. An excused letter should be submitted to the office upon returning to class. However, a phone call shall be made to notify the reasons of the child’s absence.

Unexcused Absences

If the student has been suspended, no excuse letter and no valid reason for absence is an unexcused absence.

Student who has unexcused absence receives an average of no higher than 90%.

All missed class works (home works and seat works) will be sent home to the child to cover up the missed lessons. Likewise parents/guardians could take all children’s homework at the end of the school.
